Youth Against Sexual Assault is a non-profit organization founded in 2015 by Govind Ramakrishnan, a New York City teenager of Indian descent. YASA's goal is to kick off a global campaign to raise awareness regarding the issues surrounding gender violence and sexual assault. In order to accomplish these objectives YASA volunteers will impart fact-based information as well as practical guidance to teenagers, parents, teachers and community members at large. YASA operates on the principle that all women have the basic right to safety and freedom of expression. We hope to inspire a youth-led revolution that will accord the women in our society the respect and protection that they deserve.
